Primary Responsibilities
To provide a variety of administrative and clerical support for the staff and guests of Sumatanga Camp and Conference Center. These duties include but are not limited to receiving visitors, handling information requests, fielding telephone calls, providing sales and services of the Sumatanga Camp Store as well as various other duties not listed.
This position reports to the Food Services Director.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Experience in food service preferred
- Ability to work within a team environment, supporting staff as needed to meet the goals of the organization
- Self-motivated and able to work independently to complete tasks as needed
- Serve Safe certification is a plus but not required
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Food Services Director, the employee will:
- Assist with any task needed. These may include but are not limited to, dishwashing, general janitorial services in the kitchen or dining room, cooking meals, serving meals, preparing the facilities before meals, and cleaning up after meals.
- Food preparation for upcoming events
- Any other duties as directed by the supervisor
Performance/Success Factors
- Must be punctual to work and/or any other related functions. Must complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner; must be conscientious about the quality of your work and willing to accept constructive criticism
- Must be able to prioritize daily tasks and events
- Must be a self-starter and able to work both independently and within the framework of a team
- Must dress appropriately for the position. Serve Safe requires that kitchen staff maintain certain standards of cleanliness and sanitation, and therefore, dress codes will be enforced
- Must be willing to work long hours on your feet
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
The Food Service team member position is a part time position with flexible work hours depending on the season and activity on campus. The daily/weekly schedule will be set by the direct supervisor and/or the Executive Director.
